Williamsons of Shrewsbury operates day trips across the country, with pick ups from Shrewsbury and surrounding areas. Passionate about transporting passengers to some of the UK’s much-loved tourist locations, they offer a diverse range of excursions - from museums and markets to beach days and shows. There’s truly something for everyone.
Established in 2008 by husband-and-wife duo, Tina and Robert Hooper, they pride themselves on delivering exceptional customer service. They both personally escort every journey, and hire state-of-the-art coaches from Longmynd Travel Ltd to ensure a safe, comfortable, and pleasurable journey. Testiment to their unwavering passion and dedication to offering a personalised and professional experience, many of their passengers return time and time again, and have become life-long friends.
With an illustrious family history, the Williamsons name has boasted stellar reputation and respect within the coach industry, both regionally and nationally, for generations.
Our History
Back in 1921, Joe Williamson (Tina’s grandfather) founded Williamsons Motorways , which was later taken over by his son John in 1966. With a fleet of buses, they travelled the length and breadth of the UK , offering day trips to a wide array of destinations. For several years, they also provided the bus services in and around Shrewsbury town centre, strengthening their relationships with the local community.
As a true family affair, Tina and her two brothers, Steven and Howard all worked within the business. And in 1982 Tina, aged just 18, became the youngest woman in County to pass her PSV licence and played an integral role within the company for many years.
In the early 2000s with two young sons, Tina decided to turn her focuses in a new direction. And, in 2008 Williamsons of Shrewsbury was born – a dedicated business solely for day trips with pick ups in the local area.
Day Trips
With a wide range of locations listed and venues visited, Williamsons of Shrewsbury has something for everyone.
Many trips become very popular, so advance booking is encouraged, but a waiting list is put in place where necessary, on a first come first served basis.
Understanding that things happen outside of our control, Williamsons of Shrewsbury will happily refund your trip or offer you an alternative, when giving at least 48 hours’ notice . Cancelling within 48 hours will incur a non-refundable charge of 100% of the trip.
Entrance Fee/Food when trips incur these they must be paid for one month before the trip, and no refunds will be given
